National Nonprofit Day | Nonprofits we Support

Over the years, Nicole has supported many different non-profit organizations. In honor of National Nonprofit Day, we wanted to take a moment to highlight some of Nicole’s favorite nonprofits, not in any particular order.

It’s the Pits

It’s the Pits works to find permanent homes for American Staffordshire Terriers, Staffordshire Bull Terriers, and American Pit Bull Terriers that they rescue from various shelters. Nicole and Martin actually adopted two of their dogs, Mickey and Frank, from It’s the Pits.

Throughout the years, Nicole has continued to support the rescue by sponsoring various events and dogs.  

In fact, Nicole is sponsoring its 2nd Annual Ruff Ruff Royale coming up on October 5th. If you’re interested in learning more about this fun event, click here. 

The San Diego Animal Support Foundation

“The San Diego Animal Support Foundation is a private, volunteer dependent, nonprofit (501c3) organization dedicated to improving the welfare of animals in overburdened, underfunded local shelters and rescues.”  -From SDShelters.org

A few years ago, Nicole sponsored an event called “Big Dogs Rock” that helped find fur-ever homes for large breed dogs.  It was one of her favorite events!

Cameron Gallagher Foundation

The Cameron Gallagher Foundation is a nonprofit with an incredible mission: to raise awareness and understanding of teenage depression and anxiety.

Nicole was touched by Cameron Gallagher’s story and was happy to support the foundation by sponsoring the SpeakUp5k. Nicole and her husband Martin even participated in the walk!

SNAP – Spay Neuter Action Project

SNAP is another one of Nicole’s favorite nonprofits for one reason: it works to prevent pet overpopulation.

SNAP provides low-cost spay/ neuter services to the San Diego Community. SNAP even has a bus called the “Neuter Scooter Mobile Clinic” that hosts spay/ neuter events throughout the county.

Due to the demand of the Neuter Scooter, SNAP needs a second truck. Because Nicole feels passionately about adopting, she has decided to sponsor a portion of the new truck!

Helen Woodward Animal Center

Miramar Kitchen & Bath is a proud drop-off location for the Helen Woodward AniMeals program. The shelter is asking for unopened, unexpired, and non-prescription pet food and treats as well as toys.

Miramar Kitchen & Bath will also be collecting donations on behalf of the shelter at its fall kitchen remodeling seminar on September 21st, 2019.
