Remodeling in Four Easy Steps

Remodeling your kitchen or bathroom can be a daunting task, especially when you do not know where to start. We understand how overwhelming the remodeling process can be and encourage you to follow these steps for an easy, stress-free process:

Have a vision

Design is subjective and that is why you should always have an idea of what styles and materials you would like to see in your kitchen or bathroom before you start meeting with contractors. This will help you to determine your budget and allow contractors to better serve you when it comes to design suggestions and working within your budget.

If you’re lacking inspiration or need more ideas to present to the contractor, we recommend checking out our portfolio or websites like Pinterest and Houzz.

Know your remodeling budget

We cannot emphasize how important it is to have a budget prepared before contacting potential contractors for your project.

Anyone can sell you on a $5,000 bathtub, but would that be feasible for you? Maybe not. Having a concrete budget will help the contractor pick good quality materials within your price range. We would hate for you to go through the process of finding materials you love only to find out it will be a $30,000 project when you were expecting to spend much less.

Do your research

There are many things you can do to check the legitimacy of a contractor by checking their license number, by reading reviews/ complaints and accreditation with the Better Business Bureau or by checking their NARI status. You can also search for reviews on Google, Yelp, or Angie’s List.

Talk to a Variety of remodeling Contractors

After you have a vision for your remodel, developed a budget and have found qualified contractors, you are ready to start receiving estimates. Do not settle. You should talk to a few contractors before settling on the first estimate you receive.

If you are in the market for a remodel, we would love to start a conversation with you. Call us today to schedule an appointment in our design center and get the ball rolling!
